When We Are Closed

outofhoursThere is an out-of-hours service commissioned by NHS Portsmouth which provides cover between 6.30pm and 8.00am on weekdays and throughout weekends (Friday 6.30pm - Monday 8.00am) and bank holidays.

Please note:  It is NOT possible to leave a message on the surgery number.

At all times when the surgery is closed:

For all non emergency medical queries which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens please call 111.

This is a free service from both landlines and mobiles.

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation.

Call NHS 111 if:

  • you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency
  • you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
  • you don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call
  • you need health information or reassurance about what to do next

For less urgent health needs, contact your GP or local pharmacist in the usual way.

If a health professional has given you a specific phone number to call when you are concerned about your condition, continue to use that number.

For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, continue to call 999

There is also a BSL presentation which you can watch via this link:  - The NHS 111 BSL service is open 7 days a week, 8am – midnigh

Please use this service responsibly. Remember it is for emergencies only; it is not to be used to deal with any requests for repeat prescriptions or other non-urgent matters.

Please Note:  Patients with dental emergencies should contact the helpline on 0800 885544.

ONLY call 999 in an emergency.

Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

You can also use the eConsult service to seek advice or send a question to the practice which will be responded to once we reopen.
